Is nothing female sacred?
The notion of a man slipping a ring on his loved one’s finger may date back in legend to the Austrian Archduke Maximillian, who gave Mary of Burgundy a diamond ring to celebrate their forthcoming marriage in 1477, but it was only in the last century that the De Beers company made the gesture truly mainstream.
Is an engagement ring for a man just a trend?
Jeweler H Samuel claims to have almost sold out of its “Tioro”, which is a titanium-and-diamond ring with blue stripes around the band.
Does the concept seem to be a bit of a joke? ”It makes a lot of sense,” says Dr Susan Speer, senior lecturer in psychology at Manchester University. “I think it’s a good thing – it evens things out. It’s certainly not a sign of emasculation. Why should it only be women who wear a symbol of their commitment?”

Bachelorette Jillian Harris down-to-earth wedding dreams
Even though we don’t even know which eligible bachelor Jillian will choose on the Bachelorette finale next week, Jillian already has her dream wedding in mind and that is “simplicity”.
She dreams of a very romantic wedding somewhere in the Canadian Rockies with gingham tablecloths and a good ole country band playing in the background. She wants nothing fancy and even states that she would let her aunt do the cooking.
Hummm we are all waiting and wondering who she will choose as her dream guy with the hopes of having a dream wedding.
A stylish and elegant wedding does not have to be fussy with the right planning. You can choose simple colors for your theme and keep your wedding small and intimate. Decorating with candles and pretty flowers like daisies can go a long way to make your dream wedding look spectacular but yet keeps planning to a minimal.

Bravo reality star Patti Stanger who owns the Millionaire Matchmaker announced she is engaged to long time boyfriend Andy Friedman, and is kind of shocked.
Andy Friedman is a 51-year-old real estate executive whom she met through a matchmaker five and a half years ago. It was an on-going joke that the matchmaker herself was not married. He popped the question in Maui, Hawaii, on her May 31 birthday.
She received a 4-carat ring and as a matchmaker has a rule that if you go out a year and he doesn’t propose, it goes up a carat a year. They are planning 2010 nuptials.
